We are looking for a Senior Database Administrator to join the Technology team, working in support of our Amazon AWS-based core application running on the LEMP stack.
As the Database Administrator, you will:- Continuously improve the monitoring, maintenance and performance of our production and non-production RDS instances running MySQL Databases. As a platform managing significant amount of Personally Identifiable Information, Information Security will be a top priority, as well as helping to evolve our platform to manage ever-increasing volumes of data throughput.
- Have an ability to understand how the database structure and load interacts with choosing appropriate tools and cloud components will be key to your role in the fast-growing environment.
- Ultimately, you’ll ensure secure, stable and performant availability of ID-Pal’s RDS instances.
- Play a lead role in the in the design and development of database systems
- Design, development, performance monitoring & tuning MySQL Databases
- Optimize database systems for performance and reliability
- Administration of the Production and non-production MySQL Databases
- Provide database solutions based on technical documents and business requirements.
- Develop database functions, scripts, stored procedures and triggers to support application development
- Ensure data integrity and quality in database systems.
- Maintain standard policies for database development activities
- Configuration and management of appropriate AWS monitoring tools
- Providing trend analysis and analytics to the management team
- Problem escalation to the development team
- Access management & User Roles
- Support of project teams in delivering new and enhanced functionality
- Responsible for the implementation & release of database changes
- Desirable: 5 years or more experience managing databases
- MySQL Database administration and performance tuning
- Knowledge and experience of ProxySQL, AWS Proxy, (or comparable tool)
- Experience supporting and testing large scale web-based distributed applications in a *nix Environment
- Security-oriented approach to systems architecture
- Strong understanding of GDPR
- Bachelor’s degree
- Knowledge of data analytics and reporting

- Familiarity with Python for automating tasks Knowledge and experience of implementing AWS Well-Architected Principals
- Nice to have: Knowledge of Redshift / Tableau
