Colum Lyons Reviews 2020, Shares his Learnings and Provides a Look-Ahead to 2021
With the Christmas break and a brand-new year quickly approaching I’ve seen a year filled with innovation, adaptation and adoption across the digital Identity Verification industry. For ID-Pal 2020 was filled with growth, success and change building up a wave of momentum that will take us into 2021.
In March, our headquarters moved into a new office space to facilitate our rapidly growing team. The ID-Pal team has doubled this year and we just announced a number of new exciting openings to fuel 2021. Our business has been strengthened by additions to the technology team, product team, customer relations team and, most notably, appointment of a Chief Operations Officer. COO Simon Montgomery joined us from fintech firm Future Finance and his expertise will be invaluable as we expand our operations into 2021 and beyond.
With the sudden onset of Covid we were proud to help many businesses continue to provide their valuable services to customers. With remote working and remote services becoming the overnight norm, it was more vital than ever to ensure that businesses had robust identity verification processes in place to protect themselves and their customers from fraud.
Over the course of the year ID-Pal enabled numerous companies domestically and internationally to continue helping their customers with minimal disruption to service. The ID-Pal service was included in a Forbes list of Fintech firms providing free technology during the Coronavirus crisis
Security is a critical factor in forging trust with customers. As part of our constant pursuit of Data Protection and Information Security excellence, we achieved ISO 27001 certification. This in turn provides our customers with the comfort and security of knowing that when using ID-Pal their data is safe.
Similarly, we are committed to providing our customers with industry-leading identity verification software at every turn. This year we added key features such as Address E-Verification & Passive Liveness to deliver further enhanced fraud protection to businesses.
Over the course of 2020 our customer base grew by over 65%, including the formation of 2 powerful strategic partnerships with HID Global and KYC Global Technologies. The ID-Pal solution received valuable industry-recognition through numerous awards, such as Merchant Anti-Fraud Solution of the Year and Best Customer Facing Experience.
Looking ahead to 2021 we will be focusing on significant international expansion, especially into the UK and the US, as well as further growing the ID-Pal team. We have an exciting pipeline of innovative technologies that will be implemented in order to continue to meet and surpass the expectations of our customers.
