About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive part-time Bookkeeper to support the day-to-day financial operations of the business. This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing transactional processes, supporting VAT compliance, and assisting with month-end and audit requirements. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure smooth and timely financial operations.  

This is a part-time role, requiring three days per week. You will ideally be based in Dublin for a hybrid arrangement. 

Core responsibilities

Accounts Receivable 

  • Raise and issue sales invoices accurately and in a timely manner  
  • Assist with credit control activities, including monitoring aged receivables and supporting automated invoice chasing processes  
  • Respond to internal and external invoicing queries 

 

Accounts Payable 

  • Process and post supplier invoices accurately  
  • Obtain appropriate internal approvals for invoice payments  
  • Process monthly payment runs  
  • Manage the finance inbox to ensure timely processing of invoices and queries 

 

Expenses & Corporate Cards

  • Process and reconcile employee expense claims  
  • Bookkeep and reconcile Spendesk transactions, including recurring subscription charges via virtual debit cards  
  • Ensure appropriate GL coding and supporting documentation is maintained  

 

Bank & Balance Sheet Reconciliations

  • Perform regular bank reconciliations  
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records  
  • Prepare supporting schedules and reconciliations for monthly management accounts  

 

VAT & Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure VAT records are accurate and compliant with relevant regulations  
  • Prepare and submit Irish VAT returns  
  • Submit UK MTD VAT returns   
  • Prepare and submit other required returns including VIES and RTD  

 

Reporting & Audit Support

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts support schedules  
  • Support the annual audit process, including preparation of documentation and responding to auditor queries  

 

General Finance & Cross-Functional Support

  • Respond to ad hoc finance queries from internal teams  
  • Support continuous improvement of finance processes and controls  

 

Key requirements

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a bookkeeping or similar finance role  
  • Knowledge of VAT (Irish and UK experience desirable)  
  • Experience processing high volumes of invoices and transactions  
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy  
  • Previous experience with Xero desirable but not necessary  
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines  
  • Strong communication and organisational skills  
  • Pro-active and solution oriented  
  • Experience working in a multi-entity environment
