We are seeking two experienced Senior Backend Developers to design, develop and scale secure, high-availability backend systems that power real-time identity verification and business onboarding across regulated markets.
You will operate in a security-critical, compliance-driven environment where performance, reliability, and data integrity are paramount.
Our backend ecosystem includes Spring-based microservices and Laravel-powered services. You’ll help evolve and modernize this architecture, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and long-term technical direction.
Core responsibilities
- Build scalable, secure backend systems using Java (Spring) and PHP (Laravel)
- Contribute to the evolution of automation pipelines and AI-assisted engineering practices
- Design, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs
- Champion secure development standards across backend systems
- Optimize database schemas and queries for performance and reliability
- Ensure robust data handling and error management
- Collaborate with frontend developers for API integration and feature delivery
- Troubleshoot, debug, and improve existing server-side code
- Play a key role in architectural decisions and the evolution of backend engineering standards
- Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers
- Maintain documentation for backend components and services
- Work with cloud infrastructure (AWS) to deploy and scale backend services
Key requirements
- Strong professional experience in Java (Spring) and/or PHP (Laravel), with willingness to work across both environments.
- Strong experience working with relational databases such as MySQL
- Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality
- RESTful API design and implementation
- Strong understanding of server-side application architecture
- Codebase version management (Git or similar)
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with performance tuning and debugging
- Proven ability to work with Cloud native services such as AWS, Azure or similar
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
- 5+ years of backend development experience, with proven track record
